
Liverpool Marathon – 9th October 2011
26.2 miles of road featuring 3 parks, 1 historic tunnel & a route lined with iconic landmarks. Welcome to the RunLiverpool Marathon 2011. The proposed 26.2 miles will take in both sides of the River Mersey with this carefully considered route aiming to deliver a first class race day experience for everyone taking part – as well as for the spectators – and there’s not a shell suit or droopy moustache in sight! See, enjoy and experience Wirral and the fantastic Liverpool city centre on 9th October in a way that has never been done before! It’s going to be 26.2 miles of absolute enjoyment!

Women’s 10k & 5k Fun Run – Sunday 8th May 2011 – Starts 11am Sefton Park, Liverpool
The Women’s 10K and 5K event is back again with the 10K now stretching back an amazing 26 years. Instigated by Liverpool City Council back in 1986 the Women’s 10K is still attracting runners in their thousands who converge on Sefton Park for a great day out. The Park provides an excellent backdrop for an event that generates an excellent atmosphere every year. In recent years a 5K distance has been added as well as a 1 mile fun for under 12s and both additions have proved extremely popular.

Mersey Tunnel 10k – Sunday 12th June 2011, 10am – You don’t need a ferry to cross the Mersey!
The Tunnel 10K race has enjoyed year on year increases since returning to the sporting calendar in 2006. Now in it’s 6th year since returning it is expected around 3,000 runners will take part in this distinctive 10K race. The event attracts a good range of runners from novices to good quality club runners. Many of those taking part come back again and again to tackle the Kingsway Tunnel incline which is not as daunting as you may think.
