Pleased to be one of the first to access the new Merseyside Running forum as it presents a great opportunity to create some meaningful dialogue with the running community across the region and hopefully beyond.
There is great deal of speculation and gossip about the key events in Liverpool and the Forum will be a fantastic platform to keep in regular contact with the many 1,000s of runners on Merseyside.
First off I would like to raise the issue of the 2009 Liverpool Half Marathon as earlier this year I came close to bringing the event right back into the city. I would ask those who took part a couple of weeks ago what they thought of the existing course (which seems to have to change every year because of localised opposition wherever the race happens to be) and whether a start at the Liver Buildings and a finish at the Arena would be preferable?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Alan, thanks for your suppport and a big welcome from me .

We are a brand spanking new forum ready and waiting for the countless runners of the Northwest region. Lets hope word spreads far and wide!

Any opportunity to showcase a world class city, plus bringing in thousands of runners from far and wide can only enhance the race itself and raise the profile of the citys historic streets and areas. The Arena is fast developing into a fantastically, vibrant and attractive area. The Liverbuildings area (http://www.yoliverpool.com/forum/showthread.php?t=262&page=16) is still a building site but will be stunning once the Mann Island area (http://www.yoliverpool.com/forum/showthread.php?t=992&page=11) has been built upon and the Museum constructed [and the canal link (http://www.yoliverpool.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5870)], I can't wait!
