I spend much of my early running days on the road. It wasn't until 1999/2000 that I began using the treadmill.
The only time I run on the road now is before a race.
What about you?
I don't like threadmills I must be honest. I prefer the open road as I can speed up or slow down easier and more frequently. I change routes now and again or run the route in the opposite direction to get a different view of things you'd normally miss. Evening is best to avoid veicle fumes or better still, drive to a local park.

i use sefton park as my training ground cos one circuit is 2.5 miles, from the lake directly up through the middle is another mile and then running anti-clockwise back to the lake is another mile so it's a nice flexible route and i can run as far or as little as i like depending on how i feel on the day. Oh and it's more or less off-road so i can wear my mp3 players and not worry too much about having to be aware of traffic :music::music:
